Ethan Chase

Owner | Attorney
He/Him/His

Ethan came to Louisville after graduating from Berea College in Eastern Kentucky to study at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. He quickly fell in love with the city and its people. Ethan has since made Louisville his home with his husband, Taylor, and their two dogs, Theo and Frida.

One core principle has guided his career: the belief that through hard work and public service, legal skills can be leveraged to make a difference in the community and across the Commonwealth. In service of this principle, his experience spans a state-wide law firm, where he represented both plaintiffs and defendants in contract disputes and personal injury claims, and The Legal Aid Society, where he represented more than four hundred clients in family law matters. Additionally, he worked as a staff attorney to Justice Debra H. Lambert at the Kentucky Supreme Court, handling family law, criminal, contract, and other appellate cases. Currently, he gives back to the community by serving the Jefferson County Courts as a Guardian ad litem and Friend of the Court.

His professional and personal passions translate directly from that core principle. Ethan volunteers time and resources to Kentucky-based non-profits, such as the Kentucky Youth Law Project, where he serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. As a member of the National LGBT+ Bar Association and Family Law Institutes, he collaborates with attorneys nationwide on issues including family creation through assisted reproductive technology, child custody and adoption, interstate and international parentage issues, transgender rights, dissolution of relationships, and domestic violence. Further, he has instructed courses in Gender Law & Policy at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.
