He/Him/His
I came to Louisville after graduating from Berea College in Eastern Kentucky. Though I came here to study at the University Louisville Brandeis School of Law, I quickly fell in love with the city and its people. I’ve long since graduated law school and made Louisville my home with my husband, Taylor, and our two dogs, Theo and Frida.
One core principle has guided my career: through hard work and public service, I can leverage my skills to make a difference in the lives of my community and across the Commonwealth. In service of this principle, my experience spans: a state-wide law firm, where I represented both plaintiffs and defendants in contract disputes and personal injury claims; The Legal Aid Society, where I represented more than four hundred clients in family law matters; and The Kentucky Supreme Court, where I was the staff attorney to Justice Debra H. Lambert handling family law, criminal, contract, and other appeals cases.
My professional and personal passions translate directly from that core principle. I volunteer my time and money to Kentucky-based non-profits, and am a member of the National LGBT+ Bar Association and Family Law Institutes, where I collaborate with attorneys across the nation on issues of: family creation through assisted reproductive technology, child custody and adoption, interstate and international parentage issues, transgender rights issues, dissolution of relationships, and domestic violence. And, I instruct courses in Gender Law & Policy at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.
